Question on space and matter?

"newer" matter is made in the death of stars - supernova explosions. Such matter could have formed our existing sun and planets due to gravitational attraction. The cycle could repeat in, say, 5 billion years, but many astronomers believe our star is not massive enough to undergo supernova detonation.
