Help with reinstatement into navy?

I recently got discharged from the Navy in August of 2010 with a General Under Honorable Conditions discharge and I am getting ready to put in my appeal to get a Honorable. But I wanted to see how i would go about going for reinstatement. I feel I was put out on just terms. I was sent to Captains Mast for Failure To Be In Appointed Place at Appointed Time for missing a meeting with my Department CPO. I was late to the meeting due to me finishing a NKO course for a qualification. I did contact my Division CPO to let him know I will be a few seconds late. In Mast i was referred to as disrespectful, doesn't follow orders, and not a good sailor. I was over looked for my knowledge for my job and being able to preform well in several different work areas with full understanding of all equipment in those areas. Ive never been written up for anything above being late to work my 2 years in besides for the Mast I had before for being UA which I did my punishment for and was on track to improving myself as a sailor. I never had anyone represent me and explain everything about the whole discharge. While signing my discharge papers i was told by the guy getting me to sign it that i shouldn't take furtherer actions like going to see the Admiral on the matter because I would be fine with that discharge but i haven't. Things have been harder then the would of been if i didn't join. Benefits are a hassle to get. Jobs still look at me like I have a Dishonorable. If anyone can help me on this matter I would really appreciate it.
