How do they know that i reinstated my insurance?

Decemer 25 I got my insurance cancelled due to non payment. I recieved a letter from pennsylvania dmv on the 30 stating that if i didnt reinstate my policy in 30 days i would have to surrender my license plates and stickers to them. I reinstated my insurance with the general on january 13. I called them today and asked them if the dmv knows about my reinstatement. The person on the phone said oh no sorry we only report cancellations. So how does the dmv know if i reinstated on time if my insurance failed to say i did.My 30 days is coming dangerously close. Im not looking for any trouble. Is it something the dmv looks into themselves and finds out. ? All your input is appreciated . thanks
